Our experienced team of venture capital professionals offers a combination of strategic insight, industry expertise, sound judgment, dedication and integrity.


Denny Weston


Denny joined FVP at its inception in 1982 with substantial experience in the areas of finance, operations management and retail merchandising and was solely responsible for FVP's venture capital activities from 1982 until 1997. Denny's responsibilities include overall fund management and administration as well as deal flow generation, due diligence, deal structuring and portfolio management. He currently serves on the Boards of Calidora Skin Clinics, Inc., Carena, Inc., ISR, Inc., PayScale, Inc., Pacific Star Communications, Inc., Confirma, Inc., and Veratect Corporation.

With over 26 years in the venture capital industry and deep experience gained through his involvement with more than 60 portfolio companies, Denny brings a wealth of understanding of the investment and portfolio management process. He is known for his strengths in strategic and financial planning, mentoring and coaching the chief executive, and in maintaining a disciplined approach to corporate governance.

Prior to joining Fluke Venture Partners, Denny spent four years in public accounting in Seattle and five years as a member of senior management responsible for the operations of two sister corporations involved in manufacturing and distribution in Seattle and Anchorage.

Often lauded as an early leader in the Pacific Northwest venture capital industry, Denny was a founder of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association and has long been active in business and community affairs.

Denny received his BA in business administration, from Central Washington University and his MBA, with honors, from the University of Washington. Denny is married and has two grown children and enjoys fly fishing, bird hunting and horse ranching.


Kevin Gabelein

Kevin joined Fluke Venture Partners in 1997 and shares responsibility for deal flow generation, due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio management. He currently serves on the Boards of Concordia Coffee Systems, Inc., Genoa Healthcare Holdings, LLC., MedManage Systems, Inc., Passage Events and Promotions, Inc., Phoseon Technology, Inc., and Vantos, Inc.

Prior to joining FVP, Kevin practiced corporate and securities law in the Corporate Finance Group of Riddell Williams P.S. in Seattle (this group has since moved to the Seattle office of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary). At Riddell Williams, Kevin represented numerous companies ranging from start-ups to publicly traded companies, primarily in Internet, software and communications markets. Kevin has experience in general corporate representation and a variety of transactions, including seed financings, sophisticated venture capital transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Kevin was also a Certified Public Accountant, and practiced with the Seattle office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Kevin received his BA in business administration from the University of Washington and his JD from the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Kevin is married and has two children and includes among his interests golf, skiing and fitness activities. Kevin serves on the Board of CRISTA Ministries and served as its Chairman from 2004 to 2006.
